DUBLIN — The Lady Knights used a five-run outburst in the second inning and scored in all four of their at-bats to easily outdistance visiting Midway, 11-0, in a Four County Conference matchup on Friday.

The win improves West Bladen to 10-2 overall and 5-2 in the conference, while the Lady Raiders fall to 3-5, 2-4.

Midway couldn’t win if they couldn’t muster any offense, and Nicole Wyatt took care of that by scattering three hits and striking out eight from the circle for the lady Knights. Wyatt’s record matches that of West Bladen’s at 10-2, 5-2.

“She’s really doing a great job,” West Bladen coach Pam Stephens said. “She’s pitched will in every game we’ve played.”

At the plate, the Lady Knights scored two runs in the bottom of the first, highlighted by Taylor Stephens’ RBI triple.

The lead was extended to 7-0 in the second when West Bladen pushed five runs across with the help of a couple hits mixed in with Midway errors.

The Lady Knights added three runs in the third and another run in the fourth to end the game early on the 10-run rule.

“We hit the ball much better than the first time we played them,” said Stephens. “We were real happy with how the girls played.”

Stephens was 2-for-3 at the plate with the triple and two RBIs, while Morgan Sweeney was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
