ROSE HILL — Lacey Suggs took command of the circle for the lady Eagles on Thursday and twirled a two-hitter at Union for a 15-1 Four County Conference victory.


For Suggs, the five-inning, complete-game win improved her record to 2-0. Along with the two hits, she walked just one and struck out five.


“Lacey pitched a great game,” said East Bladen coach Patty Evers.


The Lady Eagles got on the board early, often and in every inning — scoring five runs in the top of the first inning and adding a run in the second, three in the third, five more in the fourth and another in the fifth.


At the plate, Suggs helped her own cause by going 5-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored. She got help from Anna Brewer, who went 3-for-5 with two RBIs, and Emily Scott, who was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and four runs scored.


Yolanda Coston was 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs, while Abby Ward had a hit and RBI and Maddie West had a hit and two RBIs.

— In Rose Hill on Thursday, the Eagles got a stellar pre-prom pitching performance from Alex Coates and knocked off Union 7-3 in a Four County Conference game.


The heroes at the plate was Colby Hester, who connected for a two-run triple, and Cam West, who pounded an RBI double in the win.
