ELIZABETHTOWN — The Lady Eagles of East Bladen will host their annual Holiday Classic basketball tournament on Monday and Tuesday at the Eagles Nest.

Four teams will compete in the round-robin tournament — Whiteville, East Columbus, West Bladen and the host Lady Eagles.

I think it’s good for our area to have a local tournament,” said East Bladen coach Patty Evers. “It’s good competition for us all and we would like to see it expand for sure.”

On Monday, West Bladen wlil face East Columbus at 5 p.m., followed by Whiteville versus East Bladen at 6:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Whiteville will lock up with West Bladen at 5 p.m. and East Columbus wlil face East Bladen at 6:30 p.m. It will be the third game of the young season between East Columbus and the Lady Eagles — the Lady Gators beat east Bladen in the season opener, 57-37, and the Lady Eagles beat East Columbus, 47-38, on Nov. 29.

Entry to the tournament is $6 per person with no passes out. Concessions will be available.
