Aug. 27

— The Baldwin Branch Missionary Baptist Church clothes closet will be open from 8 to 11 a.m. The food pantry, “From His Table to Yours,” will be open as well from 10 a.m. to noon. Personal identifications and transportation is required. No fees are involved in either ministry. Baldwin Branch is located at 4047 N.C. 242 Hwy. South in Elizabethtown.

— Kitchen Branch Missionary Baptist Church, located at 2058 Baltimore Road in Council, will hold a back to school program starting at 6 p.m. For information, call Willie Mae Anglin at 910-247-2119.

Aug. 28

— The Sandhill Missionary Church family will celebrate “Men’s Day” and their pastor. The Rev. Donald Thompson will deliver the message at the 11 a.m. worship service. All community men are invited to attend. Lunch will be served following the service.

— St. John AME Zion Church will hold its annual convocation service at 11 a.m. The public is invited to attend, especially students and educators. For more information call 910-972-1673.

— Kitchen Branch Missionary Baptist Church, located at 2058 Baltimore Road in Council, will hold an Anniversary & Homecoming Celebration at 3 p.m. Special guest speaker will be the Rev. Charles Parker of First Orrum Missionary Baptist Church in Orrum. All are welcome.

Sept. 3

— Tabernacle Holiness Church in Riegelwood will host its family and friends weekend today through Sunday at 11 a.m. Today’s speaker will be Bishop Linwood Cooper; Sunday’s speaker wlil be Chaplain Dean Myers. Lunch will be served both days. For information, contact Lular Graham at 910-669-2920.

Sept. 11

— Homecoming will be observed at St. Luke A.M.E. Zion Church, 410 Martin Luther King Drive in Bladenboro, on Sunday September 11, at 4 p.m. The Rev. Ronald Miller and the choir and congregation from St. James A.M.E. Zion Church in Goldsboro, N.C. will be guests. Dinner will be served. The public is invited to attend.

Sept. 17

— The Voice of Praise Gospel Choir of White’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its 30th anniversary at 6 p.m. The evening will feature Maurice McZeke of Dillon, S.C. and the Mighty Echoes … as well as many more. The public is invited. The church is located at 6838 Airport Road in the Lisbon community.

Oct. 9

— Kitchen Missionary Baptist Church invites young adult, youth, or senior choirs to join them for their Inspirational Choir’s 3rd anniversary at 3:30 p.m. Leaders who are interested in their choir(s) participating should contact Sis. — World-renown Christian singer Ivan Parker will be in concert Friday, Dec. 2, at White Oak Baptist Church Gymnasium (used to be White Oak School Gym).
