— A fellowship brunch will be held at St. Luke A.M.E. — Family/Friends Day will be observed at St. Luke A.M.E. Zion Church, 410 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Bladenboro. Pastor Hardy Ballard Jr. will bring the morning message at 10 a.m. Afternoon service will begin at 3:30 p.m. with Guest Minister Jerry Buie, choir and congregation from Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Riegelwood. Dinner will be served. The public is invited to attend.

— The Pastor’s Aide Committee of Sandhill Missionary Baptist Church in Bladenboro will spearhead their pastor’s anniversary celebration starting at 11 a.m. with Pastor Carl Smith of Piney Grove MBC as special guest. At 3:30 p.m., the Rev. Timothy Moss of Green Chapel MBC from Bolton will conduct the service. Dinner will be served between the services.

July 16

— Living Springs Church will host the annual Bladen County Walk for Christ, starting at the Bladen County Courthouse at 10 a.m. There will be prayer, various speakers, music and fellowship. All walk participants are asked to wear a white T-shirt.

July 17

— New Zion AME Zion Church, located at 2533 Lisbon Road in Council, will celebrate Family & Friends Day at 3:30 p.m. with guest Pastor Rev. Hayward Oliver from Mt. Olive AME Zion Church, with his choir and Praise Team. Everyone is invited. Dinner will be served between services.

July 18

— Oak Grove OFWB Church on Oak Grove Church Road in Bladenboro will be holding Vacation Bible School today through July 22 from 6-9 p.m. each night. Everyone — from youth to adults — is invited to attend.

July 24

— The missionaries of Sandhill Missionary Baptist Church will take the lead in celebrating Women’s Day. All women are asked to wear white and men will wear aprons and feed the women.

— Come with us on a Bible School “Submerged” adventure like no other, deep within the mysterious depths of the deep blue sea. Kids submerge themselves in God’s Word and discover that Jesus didn’t just see what’s on the outside; He looked deep down on the inside. So put on your goggles, and dive in to find truth below the surface. “Submerged” Vacation Bible School begins today and will continue through July 28, from 6-8 p.m. each night. There will be classes for all ages, crafts, music, and food. Parents and guests are invited to attend adult classes. The church is located at 2039 Pleasant Grove Church Road in Bladenboro.
