Bad pub

They say that any publicity is good publicity, but we know it’s primarily the Hollywood set that tends to give that thinking legs.

North Carolina has been in the national spotlight over the past 10 days or so, and though it is a bright light, it’s far from being a positive one — thanks to the rantings of the Rev. William Barber, the president of the state’s NAACP.

Barber recently attacked U.S. Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) by saying: “A ventriloquist can always find a good dummy … The extreme right wing down here (South carolina) finds a black guy to be senator and claims he’s the first black senator since Reconstruction and then he goes to Washington, D,C., and articulates the agenda of the Tea Party.”

Barber, who hardly deserves the title of reverend after his continued offensive comments about anything that isn’t part of the far left’s liberal agenda, is demonstrating just how poor of a leader and unifier he really is.

What Barber is vivdly pointing out to America is that there is no longer a concern for the black race. That has now been replaced by an embracing of the far left, liberal blacks who share the same divisive thinking of Barber and his ilk. Anyone who differs from that — including right wing conservative blacks — are only fit to be attacked verbally.

In a bit of irony, Barber regularly denounces extremists of all sorts, which is where he puts the likes of Scott. Yet if there is anyone with thinking that is extremist, it is that of Barber.

And because his outrageous ranting, Barber has brought North Carolina to the radars of Fox News, USA Today, CNN, The Washington Post and many other media outlets across the country.

So far, Republicans throughout Congress are showing support of Scott, which is expected. But not a single Democrat has shown any reaction, in support or in opposition, to Barber’s comments. We will count that as tacit approval of what the NAACP’s bully leader is doing.

In the meantime, the Tar Heel State isn’t looking very good.
