— Nov. 15, 1967: The new White oak Post Office is dedicated by 7th District Congressman Alton Lennon in front of 400 onlookers. Sybil Biconish is the facility’s first postmaster.
— Nov. 16, 1978: April Storms, 11, is the runner-up in the Miss North Carolina Pre-teen Pageant held in Charlotte. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Ray Storms of Bladenboro.
— Nov. 16, 1987: East Bladen’s Cougars defeat James Kenan 13-9, and Clarkton’s Blue Devils nip Littlefield 7-6 on a last-second touchdown in the first round of the state’s football playoffs.
— Nov. 14, 2003: Scott Beasley and his horse lady win a world championship in the youth division of the Palomino Horse Association’s halter-showing event in Tulsa, Okla.
— Nov. 14, 2008: The East Bladen Eagles and West Bladen Knights prepare for the state football playoffs. The Eagles will host Gates County; the Knights will travel to Wilkes Central.
