At the February Board of Education meeting, three schools received student attendance award banners. The


Elementary School Division, with an average student attendance during the month of January at 96.40 percent, was earned by Booker T. Washington Primary School, under the leadership of Kimbrie Esters; the Middle School Division, with an average student attendance during the month of January at 95.80 percent, was earned by Tar Heel Middle School, under the leadership of Clarissa Kelly; the High School Division, with an average student attendance during the month of January at 93.80 percent, was earned by East Bladen High School, under the leadership of John McMillan. Accepting the banner on behalf of East Bladen is Assistant Principal Mary Lewis.
