ELIZABETHTOWN — Mary James, district president of Retired School Personnel of North Carolina, brought greetings to the Bladen County unit at their meeting on Nov. 14. The meeting was held at Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church fellowship hall. James spoke interestingly on various reminders to seniors.


The meeting began with coffee and donuts being served by Trish Inscoe. President Katherine Inscoe-Taylor called upon Noel Dennis who sang a hymn for the invocation.


Using the topic “Preparing for Christmas” Maurice Williams of Whimsical Florist demonstrated how to make a Christmas wreath. After a drawing the wreath was presented to Brenda Smith Sykes. Other florist gifts went to lucky winners.


Taylor conducted the business session with Darlene Esters reading the minutes of the last meeting. the president reminded committee members to take their assignments seriously and be ready for their reports at he meeting on January 9. Half-and-half went to Bette McLaughlin. the meeting was adjourned.
