Business seminar set at BCC

DUBLIN — Bladen Community College’s Small Business Center will offer a no-cost, six-week seminar series on “Starting Your Business NOW!”


The series begins on Thursday, Aug. 29, and continues each Thursday through Oct. 3. The seminars run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Building 2, Room 207, at BCC.

The presenter is Steve Carver, a public speaker with more than 40 years of business ownership experience. Carter serves many private enterprises with special training, appraising and market surveying projects as well as speaking on business related topics for Small Business Centers throughout the North Carolina Community College System


The seminar schedule is as follows:
— Thursday, Aug. 29, begins with “Starting a Small Business,” a seminar on the basics of being an entrepreneur in today’s business climate.
— Thursday, Sept. 5, continues with “Choosing the Right Business.” This seminar will highlight the business type that suits your skills, dreams and resources.
— Thursday, Sept. 12, Steve Carver will give you tips and tricks for “Writing Your Business Plan.”
— Thursday, Sept. 19, will illustrate the importance of “Funding for Your Business.” Learn how to get the money you need!”
— Thursday, Sept. 26, will prepare business owners for “Taxes and Recordkeeping for Business.”
— Thursday, Oct. 3, “Marketing Your Business” will focus on how to get your business noticed and generate referrals.


Each seminar is open to the public and is sponsored by the Small Business Center of Bladen Community College..
