ELIZABETHTOWN — Elizabethtown Middle School’s students and staff are showing their support for Relay for Life.
On Friday, Jan. 17, the school held “Dress Down for Relay Day” and also had a half-court basketball shooting contest. Students raised a little more than $250 for the fight against cancer.
Four students made their half-court shots, which led to a shoot-off — and Xavier Wooten won the challenge. He won an Elizabethtown Middle School shirt, $42 and bragging rights for making the most half-court shots.
The school has several more fundraisers planned leading up to the Relay for Life main event, which will be held on May 2-3 at the school’s athletic fields.
