ELIZABETHTOWN — The Bladen County Food Bank got a much needed donation on Monday courtesy of the residents of Gooden Village Apartments.

Letisha Freeman, manager of the apartment complex, said the apartment complex has a program called supportive services and the food drive is one of many things it supports.

“We have supportive services. Every month we have to to do two events,” said Freeman.

This month, one of the events chosen was the food drive for the Bladen County Food Bank.

Freeman said a flyer is given out each month and posted in the office to let the residents which events will be taking place for them to take part in.

On Monday, the residents were treated to a Christmas party for their efforts in participating in the food drive.

“The tenants have donated very generously and for their efforts, I am giving them a party,” said Freeman on Monday.
