CARVER’S CREEK — One woman’s faith journey has led her to decide to to become born again and she has penned a book about her experience. The book, “You Say You Are Christian: Have You Been Bron Again?,” is written about her experience being saved.
“There was a point in my life when I realized, I wasn’t really saved,” said Denise Harvey, the book’s author.
She wrote her experience in the hope that it will inspire others to become reborn as well.
Harvey said it all became clear during a Bible study held at her church one night. She said she was sitting in a Bible study class and listening as the teacher spoke about salvation.
“He just opened my eyes and I knew,” said Harvey. “I kept seeking it out. It was like I was the only one that got that revelation.”
Harvey said after many nights of studying, reading the Bible, and praying about it, she decided be born again and accepted Jesus as her savior.
“When you don’t know something and you come to the truth about something, you get excited,” said Harvey.
She said as her understanding grew, she decided to write about her journey. Harvey added that while some people may not be willing to listen to someone, they might be wiling to read about it in a book.
“I was inspired to put my thoughts down in the book with the idea that people will read the book and the Lord will open their eyes,” said Harvey.
She added that while many folks do attend church and they are very active, they haven’t been saved.
“I hope they will examine their hearts and make Jesus their Lord and Savior,” said Harvey.
She added that salvation is about more than just doing good works, it is also about accepting Jesus.
Harvey is a native of Bladen County and grew up in the Carver’s Creek community.
The book is available for purchase from Amazon.com for $8.55 plus $3.99 shipping and $9 for the Kindle version.
