ELIZABETHTOWN — The Bladen County Board of Commissioners tabled a proposed social media policy during Monday’s meeting.

According to reports, Bladen County Manager Greg Martin presented the board with the policy for the board to study before the October meeting. Bladen County Commissioner Charles Ray Peterson said he wanted more information on how the policy would be enforced and labeled it as “too wordy.” Also, Commissioner Michael Cogdell expressed concerns about the proposal, according to reports.

In other business:

— The board heard a presentation about Foster Care and Adoption Services from Vickie Smith and Foster Care and Adoption Supervisor Drusilla Wright.

— The board approved the financing of six new vehicles for the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, according to reports. The financing was originally approved during the budget process.

— The board approved a request from the West Bladen High School FFA for $500 to assist in expenses for travel to the national competition. During the meeting, Nikki Locklear, recited the FFA creed.

— The board approved a request to rezone 1.31 acres of land located at 62 Old Abbottsburg Road. The land, owned by Shane C. Todd, will be used for a used car lot, according to reports.

— The board heard a presentation from Dean Morris regarding the Bladen County Soil and Water Conservation District and its services and projects.
