ELIZABETHTOWN — The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office handled a total of 44 calls from victims of crime and made 22 arrests between Dec. 11 and Dec. 18.
Among the calls from victims, there were 12 for larceny, eight for breaking and/or entering, five for verbal and/or physical assault, and three for alarms.
Following are the more interesting and/or important arrests:
— Jimmy Whitted, 69, charged with felony motor vehicle rental fraud at 106 Courthouse Drive in Elizabethtown on Dec. 12.
— Robert Lee Bass, 40, charged with abandonment of an animal at 131 Burney Road in Bladenboro on Dec. 12.
— Nicholas Antwan Brown, 35, charged with carrying a concealed gun at 8655 N.C. 131 Hwy./N.C. 41 Hwy. in Bladenboro on Dec. 15.
— Michael Kemp, 46, charged with resisting a public officer at 183 Suggs Taylor Road in Elizabethtown on Dec. 15.
— Elbert Lee Freeman, 28, charged with civil contempt for child support at 105 Courthouse Drive in Elizabethtown on Dec. 17.
— Kayla Renea Dicicco, 23, charged with felony failure to appear on a felony at Martin Luther King Drive in Bladenboro on Dec. 17.
— Rahmel Dwayne Chavis, 29, charged with felony forgery of an instrument at U.S. 701/211 Scotchman in Clarkton on Dec. 18.
