ELIZABETHTOWN — The ongoing undercover drug operation within the town of Elizabettown continues to pay dividends.
On Sunday, narcotics officers with the Elizabethtown Police Department arrested a suspect at about 4 p.m. near the corner of Mercer Road and Elizabeth Street and charged him with several drug charges.
“Elizabethtown narcotics officers had purchased crack cocaine from the suspect … during the first few months of 2013,” said Elizabettown Police Chief Bobby Kinlaw.
Arrested was Montrodell Ferrell Council, 25, of White Oak. He was charged with two counts of felony possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, two counts of felony manufacturing cocaine, two counts of felony maintaining a vehicle for the sale of cocaine, two counts of felony conspiring to deliver cocaine, two counts of felony selling cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, felony selling cocaine, felony delivering cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Council was booked into the Bladen County jail under a $97,000 secured bond.
