Verona Constance Rhoden of Bladenboro and Chima Martin Matthew of Lagos, Nigeria were united in marriage on Oct. 25, 2013, at Barcelo Bavaro Palace Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
The bride is the daughter of James and Debbie McKee of Laurinburg. She received her bachelor of arts degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and earned her master’s degree in business administration from DeVry University.
The groom is the son of High Chief Matt Obi and Chief Stella Obi of Trenton, Michigan. He received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Michigan and his medical degree from the Morehouse School of Medicine.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, James McKee.
Serving as the maid of honor was the sister of the bride, Laureen Rubyann Rhoden of Raleigh.
The groom chose his brother, Obinna Obi, of Columbus, Ohio, to serve as his best man.
After a honeymoon in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple plans to reside in Jacksonville, Fla.
