June 12

— Bladen County Commissioner Michael Cogdell will be speaking at Kitchen Branch Missionary Baptist Church at 6 p.m. The public is invited to ask questions and voice your concerns.

June 13

— Brown’s Creek AME Zion Church will host a Men’s Day Service at 6. p.m. Guest speaker will be the Rev. J.T. McDowell. All are invited.

— First Missionary Baptist Church will hold a community event from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. behind the Elizabethtown Municipal Building. There will be games, food, singing, and various types of entertainment. As well as a prayer booth, health and wellness booth, a food pantry and more.

June 14

— New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Clarkton will celebrate the second anniversary of the Rev. Harry T. Primus’ service with the church, located at 1604 White Plains Church Road. The morning service will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Donald Smith of Pilgrim Hill Missionary Baptist Church, followed by a 4 p.m. evening service with the Rev. James Smith of Mt. Calvary Missoinary Baptist Church in Little River, S.C. All are welcome.

— The Baldwin Branch MBC will have a graduation recognition service at 10 a.m. The church is located at 4047 NC Hwy. 242 South, Elizabethtown.

— Pas. Cliff Freeman will be ministering at Greater Robinson Temple of Elizabethtown for the 100 Men in Black program at 4 p.m.

— Sandhill Missionary Baptist Church in Bladenboro will begin Vacation Bible School through June 19. Classes will begin at 6 p.m. each night. All neighborhood children are invited.

— Vacation Bible School at Center Road Baptist Church will be held Monday, June 15, through Friday, June 19. A meal will be served at 5:30 p.m. and the worship rally will begin at 6:15 p.m. each night. This year’s theme is “Journey Off the Map.”

— Vacation Bible School will be held at First Missionary Baptist Church in Elizabethtown beginning Monday, June 15, and continuing through Friday, June 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. nightly.

June 20

— Sword of the Lord Ministries will be sponsoring a church kickball tournament from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Leinwand Park in Elizabethtown. There will be a motorcycle and car show, horse and pony rides, food and games, water balloon games and vendors. Interested vendors should call Joe Lowery at 910-445-6455 to make arrangements.

— The Rev. Louie Boykin, pastor of Baldwin Branch Missionary Baptist Church, travels to Kitchen Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Council for their men’s conference. The conference runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Breakfast is served from 8 to 9 a.m. with lunch between 1 and 2 p.m.

— The Rev. Louie Boykin, United Voices Choir, ushers and congregation of Baldwin Branch MBC will travel to Six Runs Missionary Baptist Church; Turkey. The service will begin at 3:30 p.m.

July 19

— New Zion AME Zion Church will celebrate Family and Friends Day at 3 p.m. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Hayward Oliver from Mt. Olive AME Zion Church in Elizabethtown. Everyone is invited.
