WASHINGTON — U.S. Congressman Mike McIntyre, D-Elizabethtown, co-chairman of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, spoke on the floor of the House of Representatives on Tuesday to urge all Americans to join together in observance of the 63rd annual National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 1.

“The true source of power is not found in the halls of Congress, or in the Oval Office of the West Wing, or in the Chambers of the Supreme Court,” McIntyre said. “The true source of power is found on our knees, before the Throne of Grace, before Almighty God! … Indeed, the power of prayer knows no bounds!”
Congressman McIntyre will be speaking on behalf of the legislative branch Thursday at the annual National Day of Prayer ceremony on Capitol Hill where he will be joining faith leaders, fellow Members of Congress, and Dr. James and Shirley Dobson. The ceremony will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday .
In addition, Congressman McIntyre and Congressman Randy Forbes (R-Virginina) introduced a bipartisan resolution, H.Res. 547, supporting the National Day of Prayer and urging all Americans to come together to pray and reaffirm the importance prayer has played in our nation’s heritage.
