ELIZABETHTOWN — A report of a runaway foster child led to something far bigger for Elizabethtown police.

On Friday, Nov. 15, police dispatchers received a call at about 9:05 p.m. concerning a runaway foster child. The female teenager was last seen in the 200 block of South Poplar Street.

“Officers learned that the runaway had left the home of her foster parent on Emma Street in Elizabethtown …” said Elizabethtown Police Chief Bobby Kinlaw. “Officers began searching the area and found the runaway in the 200 block of South Poplar Street.”

Kinlaw said that, upon further investigation about the teen, it was learned that the runaway had an outstanding warrant from Vance County for attempted first-degree murder.

Kinlaw said the officers who found the runaway immediately arrested her.

Arrested was Davana Ciera Tuck, 17, of Henderson. She was charged with felony attempted first-degree murder and booked into the Bladen County Jail, where she remains under a $100,000 secured bond.
