ELIZABETHTOWN — A local health-care company has been awarded a certification by The Joint Commission, the nation’s oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting organization in health care.
Interim HealthCare-The Byrd Group was surveyed in April by several registered nurses and determined to be worthy of certification.
The Byrd Group, which has three corporate entities — The Byrd HealthCare Group, Interim Healthcare of the Triangle and Interim Healthcare of the Eastern Carolinas — provides health care services with 11 office locations, including in Bladen, Columbus, Sampson, Robeson, Cumberland, Brunswick and Duplin counties.
The agency provides private-duty nursing services to patients in their homes or in health-care facilities. It also provides supplemental medical staffing for health-care facilities, schools, factories, flu clinics and other places where a professional medical staff is required.
