BCC Small Business Center offering no-cost classes

DUBLIN — The Small Business Center of Bladen Community College is offering business seminars in September at no cost to the participants.

“Improve Your Credit Score for a Business Loan” is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 10, from 8:30 until 10:30 a.m., on the main campus in building 2, room 207. Immediately following this workshop and in the same location is “Be Free from Debt’s Hold”, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

The “Entrepreneurs’ Academy” will meet on the main campus on Wednesdays beginning Sept. 14 from 4 until 6 p.m. Participants who attend at least five of the seven part series will receive a certificate. The series will meet on the following dates:

Sept. 14 – “How to Start a Business”

Sept. 21 – “How to fund Your Customers”

Sept. 28 – “Marketing Your Business”

Oct. 5 – “Basics of Bookkeeping”

Oct. 19 – “Financing Your Business”

Oct. 26 – “Business Taxes”

Nov. 2 – “How to Write a Business Plan”

“Setting Goals and Expectations of Employees for Business Owners” is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 22, from 2 until 3 p.m. in building 2, room 202. “Getting Your Business on Facebook” is on Monday, Sept. 26, from 2 until 4 p.m., in building 2, room 207. Both of these workshops are on the Dublin campus.

The Bladen County Public Library in Elizabethtown will be hosting “Online Tools and Apps for Small Business” on Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 2:30 until 4:30 p.m.

In September and October, a two-part series on Quickbooks will be held at the East Arcadia Center from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. “Intro to Quickbooks for Business – Part 1” is scheduled for Sept. 13. “Intro to Quickbooks for Business – Part 2” is on Oct. 11.

All seminars are open to the public and provided at no charge due to special funding arrangements for the Small Business Center and Bladen Community College.
