Head Start hosts Fall Festivals


Southeastern Community and Family Services, Inc. Head Start Centers held a Block Party Fall Festival at each of their Head Start Centers on Thursday, Oct. 29.

SCFS operates 15 Head Start Centers located in Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Hoke, Robeson and Scotland counties.

Local law enforcement, fire departments, political officials, community representatives, partners, parents and friends were invited to attend in an effort to strengthen community relations. Every child was encouraged to dress up as a special character and invite their parents.

Southeastern Community and Family Services, Inc. is a federally funded nonprofit agency based in Lumberton serving low income residents in seven counties for more than 50 years. The agency employs over 200 persons and has an approximate operating budget of $16 million which manages 15 Head Start centers, Section 8 Housing, and other programs involving workforce readiness, economic development and self-sufficiency.
