Reward offered for fugitive


ELIZABETHTOWN —The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the United State’s Marshal’s Office, are searching for a fugitive wanted for a serious assault that took place in August.

At large is Michaaveeis Donnvick Brown, 25, who is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing about 210 pounds.

“Brown was involved in a verbal argument with the victim and then pulled a handgun and shot the victim inflicting serious injury (and) requiring hospitalization,” said Bladen County Sheriff Jim McVicker. “Brown was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.”

McVicker added that Brown is described as heavy-set with medium complexion and dreadlocks. He has tattoos on his face of two teardrops and the letters LA.

“Brown should be considered armed and dangerous,” McVicker said.

Brown has a home address on Peach Street in Clarkton and is known to frequent Oakdale Homes in Clarkton.

The U.S. Marshall’s Office is offering a $500 reward for any information regarding the whereabouts and subsequent arrest of Brown.

Anyone with information on Brown is asked to call the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office and ask for Detective Chris Brisson.
