BLADENBORO — The annual “Christmas for Kids” project by the Bladenboro Police Department is underway, and Chief Chris Hunt is looking forward to donations coming in.

“My officers look forward to this every year,” Hunt said. “It’s our goal to see as many children have a nice Christmas as we can.”

Monetary donations in the form of cash or checks are being accepted now through Dec. 31, and receipts for any contributions are available.

Those wanting to make a donation can stop by the Bladenboro Police Department or Bladenboro Town Hall during regular business hours — or see Chief Hunt personally.

“We are hoping to be able to take 25 children shopping on Dec. 13,” Hunt said.

Those children — selected by teachers at Bladenboro Primary School — will be taken by Bladenboro police officers to Walmart to shop for clothes and/or toys.
