Educators’ honor society gets updated, fellowships

DUBLIN — The Delta Kappa Gamma Honor Society for women educators in Bladen County met at Dublin Primary School on Sept. 15.

Members were welcomed by hostesses Denise White, Mary Hill, Noel Dennis and Missy Well, hostess chairman.

Wells, also president, called the meeting to order and provided the invocation, after which time the group enjoyed a meal prepared by the hostesses.

Wells led the program by updating members of Delta Kappa Gamma news. After navigating through the ETA website and providing updated web addresses, Wells discussed the N.C. Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Foundation and reminded members of the state convention to be held in April, 2017.

Dennis (secretary) and White (treasurer) presented respective reports.

Several drawings topped off the agenda. The 50/50 drawing was won by Stephanie Hester, and door prizes were distributed to Connie Kinlaw, Peggy Hester, Linda Johnson, Susan Daniel, Pam Tatum, Mickie Davis, and Debbie Hester. Wells reminded members of the ticket drawing for $100 at the next meeting.
