With the outer bands of Hurricane Matthew now creeping into Bladen County, a number of important items are surfacing.

They include:

— According to Kelsey Edwards, Bladen County Public Library director, all branches of the Bladen County Public Library will close at 5 p.m. on Friday and remain closed on Saturday. Libraries will reopen on Monday.

— According to Brandon Smith, accounting technician for Bladen County Solid Waste, all convenience centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and closed Saturday.

— The region has been placed under a flash flood warning by the National Weather Service through 8 a.m. on Sunday.

— The four Bladen County Shelters wlil not open Friday as expected, but EMS officials will monitor the storm and be ready to open the shelters when needed.
