WILMINGTON — In preparation for Hurricane Matthew, UNCW has issued a mandatory campus evacuation for all students. Students are encouraged to depart campus on Thursday morning and not to travel during the evening hours. Students must leave campus no later than 12 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6. All classes, events, trips and activities scheduled to occur at or after 5 p.m. on Wednesday are canceled until further notice.
A determination regarding a potential campus closure (for faculty and staff) will be made and communicated by 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, based on the latest information available.
As weather conditions develop, the university will convey updates in real time based on the latest confirmed information from the National Weather Service and other authorities. Additional updates will be shared as conditions warrant.
