Governor McCrory’s Council for Women & Youth Involvement Office, in the NC Department of Administration, is now accepting applications for State-Funded Youth Mini-Grants. A total of $6,500 is available to North Carolina nonprofits or local governmental agencies comprised of youth, ages 13-18. The grants range from $100-$500 each and will provide valuable resources to serve a diverse cross section of students and youth across North Carolina. The application deadline is 5:00 PM, October 31, 2016.
Examples of projects that have received funding include local Special Olympics events, an anti-hunger and healthy living promotion, and a program to provide chemo care kits for patients fighting cancer. Applications requesting a provision for food, entertainment, travel or salary expenses will not qualify for funding. The applications will be reviewed by the State Youth Councils during the Mini-Grant Conference, November 11-13.
