Libraries carving out time for Halloween activities

The Bladen County libraries are offering a spooky good time for kids this Halloween.

On Saturday, Oct. 15, the main branch of the Bladen County Library in Elizabethtown will have a Halloween party for kids from 11 a.m. until noon. Kids can come dressed in their costumes and participate in tricks and treats. Interested parties are asked to register by Oct. 13 by calling 910-862-6990.

The Clarkton Public Library and Bridger Memorial Library are inviting children to come dressed in a Halloween costume for a special story time. Library staff will read Spookley, the Square Pumpkin, and kids can enjoy refreshments while watching a short film and doing crafts.

The event will take place at Bridger Memorial on Monday, Oct. 24, from 5:30 to 7 p.m and in Clarkton Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Guests are asked to come by or call to register.
