WHITE LAKE — Weather caused a number of usual events at the White Lake Water Festival to be rained out, so the Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce decided to create a whole new event: Sunday FunDay.

The new event, which takes place Sunday starting at 1 p.m., will include a classic car and truck show, the Lawn & Garden Tractor Pull, several vendors, food and gospel music.

“We just encourage families to come and enjoy the fun and, if it goes really well, we might let this become an annual event,” said Dawn Maynard, executive director of the Chamber. “I am working really hard to encourage businesses within the town of White Lake to jump on board with support to grow more events throughout the tourist season.

“I’m thinking big for 2018, so some of these are in effort to get funds in place,” she added.

The event will take place at its usual location — in the field on Hwy. 701 North across from the Scotchman in White Lake.

All events are free except the tractor pull, which has a gate fee of $5. Registration starts at 11 a.m. The event and vendor booths open at 1 p.m. and continue throughout the day.

“Anyone attending is encouraged to bring lawn chairs, umbrellas and anything else to keep them cool and comfortable,” Maynard said.
