Elizabethtown pharmacist recognized by Lumberton Girl Scout Troop 17

ELIZABETHTOWN — Pharmacist Gene Anderson was recognized on Monday by Girl Scout Troop 17 out of Lumberton after he came to the assistance of a Girl Scout leader in Robeson County who had been diagnosed with cancer.

Anderson purchased about 450 boxes of cookies from the Girl Scout leader so she would not be stuck with them.

The recognition was presented to Anderson and Toni Melvin, a pharmacy tech at Anderson Drugs on South Poplar Street by Girl Scout Sarah Allen, 15, of Tar Heel, who is also a member of Troop 17 in Lumberton.
