ELIZABETHTOWN — Construction began last week on a picnic shelter for the Lienwand Park annex, located across Swanze Street from the current facilities.
The 36-month project will include, in addition to the picnic shelter, a skate park and soccer field, horseshoe courts, shuffleboard courts, playground surfacing, a parking lot, and landscaping.
The project is being funded by a $215,000 Parks and Recreation Trust Fund grant, a dollar-for-dollar matching grant that supplies governments with funds for recreational projects that serve the public.
