ELIZABETHTOWN — Bladen Opportunities Unlimited, in an effort to get fit, has challenged the individuals served by its program to increase physical fitness and well-being this spring. With those goals in mind, they are hosting a walk-a-thon to showcase their progress.

With generous support from a donor, the program will receive $10 per person, per lap to celebrate success as they walk Leinwand Park track from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, May 20. The effort will support a trip to the N.C. Zoo in Asheboro.

Each participant has a challenge goal and will be eligible for a prize of the “Most Improved Walker,” and Bladen Opportunities will announce on Friday the amount raised.

Anyone who would like to help the individuals celebrate their accomplishment and hard work with regard to physical fitness goals can cheer program participants at the event on May 20.

Monarch’s Bladen Opportunities Unlimited is a day program in Elizabethtown dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities.
