WILMINGTON — WECT News reported on Monday that a convicted murderer was arrested on Friday for robbing a man of 75 cents.
Joey Levon Williams, of Longwood, was arrested and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, parole violation, and possession of a firearm by a felon. Williams was previously convicted of second-degree murder, sentenced to 125 to 159 months in prison, and was paroled in May, 2014, according to N.C. Department of Public Safety records.
According to a warrant, Williams’ latest arrest stems from an April 22 incident when he threatened a man with a handgun and took 75 cents from him. His bond was set at $170,000.
