ELIZABETHTOWN — Tuesday evening was not just a regular meeting for the Elizabethtown Kiwanis Club. The group helped spread the joy of the holiday season.

Some young ladies from the Lake Waccamaw Boys & Girls Club were treated to a shopping experience at Leinwand’s for new clothes, and then shared a catered holiday meal with the Kiwanians at the Cape Fear Farmer’s Market.

The youth spoke about what they wanted to be when they grew up before the feast began. From nursing to journalism the girls all have promising futures ahead of them with the career choices they talked about.

Before they ladies left they all received more gifts from the local civic group. Avon beauty products, jewelry, and Billabong book bags made each girl smile and ended the evening with the feeling of blessings in the air.
