ELIZABETHTOWN — The Bladen County Board of Education will meet on Monday, Oct. 12, at 6 p.m. in the public meeting room at the Bladen County Board of Education building located on US 701 South.
The board is anticipated to handle fundraiser requests, parent involvement plans, the naming of the press box and media booth at East Bladen High School, discuss the drivers education program, and schedule public hearing dates regarding school consolidation.
The board will also discuss an appointment of the Bladen Community College Board of Trustees.
Bladen County Schools Superintendent Robert Taylor is expected to report to the board regarding the voting delegates for the NC School Board Association’s annual conference.
The board is also expected to receive information regarding a financial summery, a Golden Leaf STEM update, and an update on the priority and focus for low performing schools.
The board will also recognize the Nykel Mullins-Diploma recipient, make custodian awards, and present the monthly attendance banner.
There are also four citizens who have signed up in advance seeking to address the board. They are Sabrina Murchison, Vanessa McBee, Sadie Perry and Phyllis Miller, and Joseph Rozier.
