LUMBERTON — The Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater will host a special weekend at the theater with the premiere of the film “Shake Off The World,” In November.

Eight screenings have been scheduled throughout the weekend, with a Red Carpet Premiere (attendees can meet the film’s stars and get their autographs before the screening) being held 7 pm Friday night that also includes “The After Party” at Candy Sue’s Restaurant with food and music (must bring your ticket stub to enter).

The following are the screening times and associated ticket prices:

— Friday Nov. 13: Noon ($8), 2 pm ($8) and Red Carpet World Premiere 7 pm ($15)

— Saturday Nov. 14: 11 am ($8) and 1:30 pm ($8)

— Sunday Nov. 15: 2 pm ($8), 4 pm ($8) and 6 pm ($8)

Filmed in Lumberton, “Shake Off the World” revolves around Austin (Aaron Mees), a rising high school football star, who has his life all mapped out, until his coach (Mike Setzer) makes a decision that forces Austin to change the course of his life. Austin finds himself in a new home, a new school, with a new set of friends and a whole bunch of problems. Just when it seems the world has Austin down for the count, he gets up, shakes off the world, and forever changes his destiny.

The film stars local Robesonians Reba Fox, Sarah Beth Short, Austin Hook, James Locklear, Mike Setzer, Mackie Register, former Miss North Carolina Johna Edmunds, Brent Tyler, Brice Heller, Mac McGill, Mahlea Celeste Hunt, Isabella Wright, John Hodges, Keaton Oxendine, Bobby Deal, Sierra Foley, Todd Nicoll, Owne Thomas, Jordan Monds, James Bass, Brett Grubbs, Matthew Deutschlander, Chad Sluss, Dylan Deal, Zack Maynor, Molli Elizabeth Hall, Jeff Barkey, Holly Anderson Storey as well as Robeson County itself.

Kendrix Singletary, production manager and resident artist at the Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater, also is featured and contributed a song to the film’s soundtrack.

Seating for each screening is general admission. Tickets for this event can be purchased ANY TIME on-line by clicking on the “CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE TICKETS ONLINE” at the top of the page. There is a small convenience fee for on-line ticket purchases. Tickets also can be purchased in-person or by telephone with credit card or cash 1-5 pm Monday through Friday through our administrative offices on the theater’s 2nd Floor (use 4th Street entrance), or by calling the theater at 738-4339 Ext. 106. The Theater lobby box office opens for ticket sales one hour prior to a performance.
