DUBLIN — The Bladen County Republican Party will host an education forum with Jamey Falkenbury, education advisor to Lt. Gov. Dan Forest. The forum will be held at the Bladen Community College Auditorium on Thursday, Sept. 3, at 6 p.m.

The presentation will cover Common Core, Teacher Pay, Education Funding, the Digital Learning Plan and other initiatives promoted by Forest.

James “Jamey” Stephen Falkenbury is from Concord and a graduate of Elon University, Class of 2007. After college he worked for the South Carolina Worth Trade Center and the Ginn Development Company in Charleston, S.C., all while working towards his master’s degree in business administration, which he received in 2010 from The Citadel.

After an opportunity with Sen. Jim DeMint, he moved to Washington, D.C., where he worked for Rep. Sue Myrick as her legislative assistant and office manager. Falkenberry now works for Forest as his press secretary, director of pperations, and education policy advisor.
