Alexandra Susanne Herring and Edward Moore Venters were united in marriage on Friday, Oct. 2, 2015 at 5 p.m. on the beach in Emerald Isle. The Rev. Freddie Braswell officiated at the double ring ceremony. Dinner followed at The Bistro by the Sea in Morehead City hosted by the groom and his family.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Alexander Herring of White Lake. Her maternal grandparents were the late Martha Louise Howe of Emerald Isle and the late Leon Desamus Ricks Jr. of Elizabethtown. Her paternal grandparents are Lillian Matthis Herring and the late James Craig Herring Sr. of Clinton.

She is a graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Arts in Hospitality Management. She also, has a degree in Cosmetology from Coastal Carolina Community College. She is currently employed at Just Hair in Emerald Isle.

The groom is the son of Phyllis Brooks Venters of Emerald Isle and the late E. Jerome Venters Jr. of Richlands. His maternal grandparents were the late Glenn Wootton Brooks of Greenville and the late Doris Sullivan Brooks Huff of Emerald Isle. His paternal grandparents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jerome Venters Sr. of Richlands.

He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. He is the President of Venters Insurance and Realty of Richlands.

Ashley Herring Finch of Clayton, sister of the bride, served as Matron of Honor. Wayne Brooks Venters of Richlands, brother of the groom, served as Best Man.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore a strapless crinkle chiffon gown with a symmetrical draping style in ivory. Her belt was a Vera Wang horsehair sash with crystals and organza flowers.

On Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. at the Wilmington Convention Center the parents of the bride hosted a black tie reception to present their daughter and son-in-law to their friends and family as newlyweds.

The bride wore a gown designed by Pnina Tornai. A designer exclusive to Kleinfeld Bridal in the U.S. The gown was strapless, mermaid style and was constructed with intricate jeweled illusion bodice and was handmade of the finest fabrics imported from Europe. It was adorned with Swarovski crystals.

The guests were treated to a sit down dinner and dancing. The entertainment for the evening was the Simply Irresisible Band of Atlanta. The grand ballroom was decorated with ivory designer linens and red roses with gold accents.

Following a honeymoon in Barbados the couple will reside in Emerald Isle.
