ELIZABETHTOWN — Department heads for the town of Elizabethtown will have a chance to make a pitch for projects and other improvements they feel are needed on Monday during the Elizabethtown Council’s annual budget retreat.

The meeting will take place in the conference room at the Elizabethtown airport and will begin with a training session for council members with Jim Perry of the Lumber River Council of Government at 9 a.m. and then move into the financial reports with Jan Lennon, finance director for the town.

“Phase II and Phase III of the utility burial and improvements to the wastewater treatment plant will be discussed,” said Town Manager Eddie Madden.

He added that he anticipates a request for the replacement of some fire trucks which are “aging out.”

“There are only a handful of projects to be discussed,” said Madden.

Those projects involve the fire department, public services, and water and wastewater, he said.

Other items on the agenda include a discussion regarding the proposed regional wastewater system, the facade grant program, and the street resurfacing schedule for 2012-13.

Madden said there will be some discussion regarding long-term capital planning.

“This will help the board in terms of the 2012-13 budget,” said Madden.
