Shooting at party injures one

ELIZABETHTOWN — A Bladenboro man was shot in the early morning hours Sunday after attending a party in Elizabethtown.

According to a report from the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, Brandin Leach, 20, of Bladenboro was shot in the right knee area while leaving a party in the 100 Block of Sand Pit Road in Elizabethtown around 1 a.m. Sunday morning.

Leach, along with four others, were in a vehicle when shots were fired into the vehicle. One bullet struck Leach, who was driving. He managed to drive himself to Bladen County Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Investigators do have a suspect and the investigation is ongoing.
