DUBLIN — West Bladen broke open a tight game with a six-run explosion in the fifth inning en route to a 10-3 win over Pender County in Four County Conference action.
The big inning was sparked by Owen peavy’s double and followed up with RBIs from Trevor Lesane, Clay Allen, Parker Allen, John Waldrop and Liston Britt.
Britt hurled six innings for the Knights and earned the win, while Jeremy Hunt finished up with an inning’s worth of work.
Lesane was 3-for-4 for West Bladen, and Waldrop was 2-for-4.
— In Rocky Point, the Lady Eagles couldn’t find their offense or defense on Friday and limped home with a 17-2 thrashing at the hands of Heidi Trask.
East Bladen was charged with 10 errors in the game — including eight in the first inning — and put themselves into a 10-0 hole right away.
The Lady Eagles scored twice in the third frame without the benefit of a hit.
“We just looked totally opposite from the night before,” said East Bladen coach Patty Evers
— East Bladen was beating the host Titans 2-1 in the second inning on Friday, but couldn’t beat the rain and the Four County Conference game was suspended.
