ELIZABETHTOWN — The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office handled a total of 51 calls from victims of crimes between March 5 ans March 11.
Among those calls were six for larceny, six for residential and/or business alarms, four for breaking and/or entering, three for drugs, three for financial identity fraud, two for suspicious activity and two for trespassing.
There were also separate calls for child custody, child abuse, a gunshot wound and shots fired.
During that same time period, deputies made 15 arrests.
Following are the more important and/or interesting arrests:
— Christopher Simmons, 21, charged with assault on a female at 2379 Owen Hill Road in Elizabethtown on March 5.
— William Joseph-Paul Britt, 19, charged with simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance at N.C. 211 in Bladenboro on March 8.
— Jimmy Lee Newkirk, 33, charged with civil contempt for child support at 753 Mitchell Ford Road in Clarkton on March 9.
— Javonta Delango Purdie, 21, charged with felony probation violation at 106 Courthouse Drive in Elizabethtown on March 11.
— Angthony Tyron Webb, 36, charged with civil contempt for child support at 106 Courthouse Drive in Elizabethtown on March 11.
