— Feb. 21, 1968: Pam Zollars of Bladen County, the 1967 Blueberry Queen, is off on a two-week trip to Alaska where she will deliver a Bladen County blueberry pie to the governor and be a guest at the Miss Alaska Beauty Pageant.
— Feb. 21, 1979: The Clarkton Rotary Club is preparing for its annual pancake breakfast at the Clarkton Community Building. Cost is $1.50 per plate.
— Feb. 22, 1988: East Bladen senior Ann Hancock scores her 2,000th career point in a game against South Brunswick. She is the county’s first basketball player to reach that milestone.
— Feb. 20, 2004: Five new Eagles Scouts from Elizabethtown Troop 600 receive their badges. They are William Corbett, Aaron Krause, Matt Krause, Seth Hair and Marc Edge.
— Feb. 20, 2009: Bladen County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Phillip Little travels to Washington, D.C., to talk with Congressman Mike McIntyre about funding for drug enforcement in Bladen County.
