Murray retires from NASA

WASHINGTON — Barbara Ann Hocutt Murray retired on jan. 3 after more than 42 years of distinguished service as a budget analyst with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in Washington, D.C.

Murray was born and raised in Elizabethtown, N.C., and is the daughter of the late Austin C. and Ada Robinson Hocutt. She is a graduate of Bladen Central High School and furthered her education as a graduate of Durham College and the National-Louis University.

Barbara resides in Brookeville, Md., with her husband Phillip A. Murray, a senior executive with the Department of Housing and Urban Development. They have one son, Brian.
