November 25, 2013

The Family Caregiver Program has respite hours available to help family caregivers in need of a short break to have some personal time away from providing constant care.

Respite is short-term temporary relief for families providing care to an elderly or disabled older adult who is unable to be left alone due to physical impairments or cognitive impairments.

The person who needs to be cared for must be 60 years of age or older or be a person of any age with Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia.

If you would like to make an application for these no-cost services, please contact Anne Oglesby 910-272-5080 at the Lumber River Council of Governments for eligibility.
