ELIZABETHTOWN — Shoppers at the Food Lion grocery store on West Broad Street in Elizabethtown are seeing some significant changes.
The Elizabethtown store is one of 169 in the Carolinas to get targeted for lower prices, fresher produce and new MVP Savings Centers.
“We invite customers to visit their local Food Lion, where they will experience firsthand new lower prices and other store enhancements, such as the greatest value in the store brands and fresher produce,” said Greg Finchum, senior vice president of retail operations for Food Lion. “We hope that you will visit your local Food Lion and experience our changes.”
The lower prices have been aimed at 6,000 items throughout the store, including access to lower prices on “my essentials” products — all just in time for the holiday shopping season.
In addition, customers will be able to use the MVP Savings Center, which allows them to scan their MVP Card to receive personalized offers for additional savings on national and private brand items in the store.
According to Finchum, a grand re-opening will be held this week, Wednesday through Saturday, at each store — during which, the first 50 cutsomers each day will receive a free bag of groceries.
In addition, the company has created a total of 500 new jobs in the 169 markets.
Other Food Lion stores in the region to receive the upgrades include those in Wallace, Lumberton, Red Springs, Fairmont, Pembroke, St. Pauls and Whiteville.
