ELIZABETHTOWN — A nearly five-month investigation led to the arrest of a Bladen County man last week.

According to Elizabethtown Police Chief Bobby Kinlaw, officers took a report on May 17 concerning the theft of speakers and a stereo sound system from the trunk of a vehicle in the parking lot of Swanzy Ridge Apartments on E. Swanzy Street.

“The system was recovered at a local pawn shop on Oct. 2,” Kinlaw said. “On Oct. 11, officers with the Elizabethtown Police Department arrested the suspect after speaking with him at the police department.”

Arrested was John Oneal Daniels, 22, of Elizabethtown. He was charged with felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle, felony larceny, felony possession of stolen property and felony obtaining property by false pretense.

Daniels was booked into the Bladen County Jail and released after posting a $4,000 secured bond on Oct. 11.
