ELIZABETHTOWN — Does this describe you: a motivated individual, responsible, you enjoy horticulture and everything it has to offer, you enjoy helping and teaching others, you are willing to learn, and, you are willing to volunteer a few hours every year to help others ?
If so, you may be a good candidate for the Extension Master Gardener program.
The EMG program is a nationwide program managed by Cooperative Extension. Through this program, Extension-trained volunteers help provide research-based information on lawn care, landscaping, and gardening (as well as other areas) to the public.
An upcoming Extension Master Gardener Training Introductory meeting will be held on Oct. 3 at the Powell-Melvin Agriculture Center in Elizabethtown, starting at 7 p.m. There, we will discuss fees, training, volunteer requirements, and the program.
